With the "Meet A Member" series of events we invite DECC members and friends to come together and learn about each other, hence learn about the industry sector our members represent. What is the chamber worth if members do not know about each other - business, services, activities. This time the focus was on the IT sector.

Companies and people involved:

• Siim Sikkut, ICT Policy Advisor at Government Office Of Estonia gives an insight benchmark on where does Estonia stand in comparison with the rest of the world, what is the development vision of the state and how it is supported;
• Andres Pihor, DECC member, Marketing and CRM Manager at Econet Systems;
• Rainer Tamm, DECC member, Project Manager of Liewenthal Electronics;
• Ainar Nurk, DECC member, Partner at Helmes - presentation of the company;
• Kristian von Wowern, DECC member, Owner at KonceptForm

DECC members represent the following sectors of IT:

• software production (Liewenthal Electronics),
• special solutions for assimilation and integration of different systems (KonceptForm, Helmes),
• IT management support (Econet Systems).

Our speakers gave a good overview of the sector as such in Estonia and drew parallels with the world, where Estonia's position in the IT field was remarkable. Our members gave insight to their businesses and drew out an important factor about the ICT business: no marketing is needed, the business is between people and the best marketing is the recommendation.
