"IT Security and YOU"
Description
A practical view on Business & IT risks
We cannot imagine our work without IT. But besides being very useful, it also leads to a whole new range of potential problems and risks. It’s fairly simple to assume that running business as usual is enough to manage those risks. Today, we would like to share opinions of various experts in this area and talk about the illusory “what ifs” using human language (English in this case).
Presentations:
Your company – Your risks
(Siim Aben, Manager, Ernst & Young Baltic)
Everyday business is a well-established process where everyone knows his job in and out and is focused (hopefully) on achieving company’s goals. What we often don’t know and don’t want to think about are various risks, which always surround us. What happens if your sales manager get flue and loses voice for a month? What happens if your ERP system’s server burns down? What happens if your customer database gets into wrong hands? Siim aben, an experienced business analyst, will share his insight and experience in the area of managing and identifying company risks.
If trust is not enough?
(Tarvi Tara, Senior Sales Consultant, Oracle Estonia)
Your employees are your most important assets. You train them, pay them, have drinks with them at Christmas party and trust them with 90%+ of company information. But what if trust isn’t enough? You don’t have to be paranoid to worry about managing data, contracts, accounting records. But is there a simple way of making extra certain that your trust isn’t betrayed? Tarvi Tara, technology expert from Oracle will share some stories and show practical means of making your trust more secure.
Your data in the cables
(Kristjan Nöör, Account Manager, Linxtelecom Estonia)
The world is covered with cables and networks, some visible – some not. When you send an email to your partner in Scandinavia – where does it actually go? When you think that your offices are connected over a “secure” channel, are they really? Kristjan Nöör, Key Account manager of some of Linxtelecom’s largest international projects will talk about international corporate networks, their value and risks.
