Company visit to Saku Õlletehas - Nov 7, 2014
On Friday, November 7th the members and friends of the Danish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce had an excellent opportunity to meet with the CEO of Saku Õlletehas, Margus Kastein and the HR Manager of Saku Õlletehas, Ave Kala.
We had a thorough excursion of the production by the Head Brew Master, Tarmo Tappo who explained the whole process from growing hobs and barley till empty bottles' handling. Margus Kastein explained the general principles of being part of the Carlsberg group - the good and bad, production-related issues, and export market gains.
Perhaps the most important part of the meeting was with Ave Kala, who showed the most recent results of employment analysis and had to note that the employment problem is further deepening instead of getting any better. The question whether or not company's image assists to get good employees got a dual reply: "It does assist in case of white-collars, but it does not necessarily assist in case of blue-collar employees. Instead, a good image in most cases means that people also expect higher salary, though the company functions in the same competition market as the rest of players", said Ave Kala.
The event ended with happy notes with tasting the hobs & barley series of beers and chaning contacts for the further meetings.
Danish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce thanks to Saku Õlletehas – Communications Manager Kristiina Tamberg, Tarmo Tappo Head Brewmaster, Ave Kala HR Manager and the CEO Margus Kastein for excellent hosting, sharing the experience and knowledge about their company. Thank you!
